Lose belly fat and love handles fast

Paul asks…

How to lose belly fat FAST when your a kid?

So I really wanna lose some weight especially on my stomach so could you please include an exercise plan and a few healthy but kinda cheap recipes and a list of good exercises please

Author answers:

If your still a kid then your not really going to be losing that much fat. When your a kid, you still have baby fat and baby fat is almost impossible to lose. You will lose the baby fat NATURALLY as you grow older. And honestly, any kid that is looking to lose weight and look skinnier is most likely to become anorexic when they become older.

Sandra asks…

How can I lose belly fat FAST?!?

I’ve been running a lot lately, but i might have pulled a leg muscle. Also I was doing a strange set of sit ups and now i’m completely soar on my abs. I’ve tried doing crunches and stuff but it hurts too bad, is there any other way i can lose belly fat? I’m trying to have a six pack. FAST

Author answers:

The fastest way to lose belly fat is by going on a very low carb diet such as south beach, etc

In 2 weeks you can lose up to 13 pounds.

If you can’t do any exercise then just maintain a healthy, very low calorie diet.

If you wanna get a six pack? Dude, you need to do some form of activity, whatever it may be

Do twists with your arms in a pool to build oblique abs and then also knee raises or ANY activity in a pool since your whining about pain..hehe

If you really wanna lose belly fat just cut calories along with the low carb diet, eat small meals, and eat about 1200-1400 cals daily since you arent doing physical activity

South beach diet= lose belly fat FAST!

Linda asks…

What would be the best way to lose belly fat & love handles fast?

I want to be in better shape by the time summer rolls around. I have a little bit of belly fat and love handles, and even some inner thigh fat. Can anyone tell me the best way to lose that fast without involving any diet pills or anything like that. I want pure exercise, I want to lose at least 10 to 15 pounds in around six weeks. Please, let me know if you have an exercise plan or tips at least, to help me achieve this.

Author answers:

The best exercise to help tone the love handles are side bends. These place direct stress on the external oblique muscles forcing them to tone and shape up. Side bends are done by standing straight with knees slightly bent and feet apart, then slowly lower the trunk a few inches to the left side then back again to do the right side. Try to keep the body and legs in line by not bending forwards or backwards.

Another great exercise to lose love handles is torso twists. The abdominals are composed of 3 layers of muscles which slide over each other, torso twists help tone the transverse abdominis muscle tightening the love handles. While standing firmly with feet shoulder width apart, the torso twists gently to the left side then to the right while at the same time trying to limit the movement from the hips. During the movements the torso should always remain upright, there should be no bending involved. Care should also be taken not to twist too far as its easy to pull a muscle when exercising the love handles!

How to lose stomach fat fast?

Lizzie asks…

How to lose stomach fat fast???Please help.?

if anybody knows how to lose stomach fat…in any way through exercise and not surgery please tell me!!!!

Author answers:

There is no healthy way to lose stomach fat fast.

But, Cardio Cardio Cardio is the key! You can do a thousand crunches a day, but your abs won’t show if they’re covered by fat.

It is ideal to do a minimum of 30-45 minutes of cardio 5-6 times per week. There’s no way you won’t see results doing that. At the very least, 3 times per week for 45 minutes. Watch what you eat, get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water, and it is virtually impossible not to see results!

Keep in mind that it doesn’t happen ‘fast’ though. The only good way to do it is with patient, consistent exercise along with eating well. Gotta start somewhere, and it’s not gonna be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. Good luck! You can do it I promise.

Author answers:

Everyone has a problem spot. It can be around the stomach, thighs, arms or chest. No matter where your trouble spot is, the solution is exactly the same. You need to eat less and exercise more. The reason why there’s only one solution for all of these problems is because it’s impossible to tell your body where to burn the excess fat from.

When you eat too many calories, your body stores the excess energy as fat in different areas around the body. To lose this fat, you need to create a calorie deficit (eat less than you burn) to force your body to start burning that fat for energy. There is absolutely no way to control where your body goes to find this extra fat.

The larger your calorie deficit (a bigger calorie deficit means a bigger difference between what you eat and what you burn) the faster your body will burn excess fat and the quicker your body fat percentage will start to decrease. You can increase your calorie deficit by cutting your daily intake and exercising more. Sit ups will do nothing to target the fat around your abs just like squats will do nothing to target the fat around your thighs. You can read more about fixing your trouble spots at the Guide to Reducing Body Fat – http://straighthealth.com/pages/guides/reducebodyfat.html

How can i lose belly fat fast and get a butt?

Mandy asks…

What are the best exercises to do to lose belly fat fast?

I recently started working out. I’m working on adding some muscle but I’m also trying to cut down on fat. I have this wonderful little patch of belly fat that likes to roll over the top of my jeans and makes me feel self conscious in a swimsuit. What are some of the most effective (and fastest =P) ways to get rid of this belly fat? I have one of those big rubber workout balls and hand weights, but no equipment other than that. Help me out here? Thanks!

Author answers:

Some of what your referring to is what is called “spot reducing” which is where you try and lose fat from a certain part of your body by working out that part of your body. It is a myth that you will lose more fat from your stomach if you do a ton of sit ups. Lots of studies have been done and you can look up spot reducing on google or something for some solid facts. Obviously you are going to get a hard stomach due to muscle toning but it wont help you lose fat.

To lose fat you have to burn more calories than you eat simple as that. A typical workout for 30 minutes burn 300-500 calories depending on intensity. You burn about 2047 calories a day from basic stuff like your heart beating and moving around.

It is considered safe to lose 1-2 lbs a week at the most. A pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories. So target your diet to be about 1500 calories on days you don; work out and 1700-1800 on days that you do it should put you at negative 500 calories a day and a pound a week.

Losing weight super fast is bogus cause most of what you lose is water and it will go right back on. Stick to that plan and in a few months you will be down 15 pounds if that’s what you want. Hope that helps!

How can i lose belly fat fast and get a butt?

I’m thin i weigh about 101 but i have belly fat and when i wear something tight it’s noticeable everyone tells me that i’m in good shape except for that little noticeable belly and my flat butt. What diet or exercises can i do that will actually work to flatten my belly and help me gain a butt???

Author answers:

Here’s my Weight Loss Program through Body Building and Nutrition.

It works!
If you want to lose weight, Don’t Use Diet Pills.
They are bad for you. Most of them are just a scam or they are addictive.

Counting calories is a pain in the butt.  It will drive you nuts. But, losing weight is simple. You just have to do the right things.

Fad diets sometimes work but, you can be sure that at least 25% of the weight you lose will be muscle. Then when you stop the diet you will gain back all of the weight you lost but no muscle. So, you will have 25% more fat than you did before! Fad diets just
aren’t worth the bother.

Fasting or skipping meals will teach your body that famine is about to happen and your body will begin to store more fat to get you through the next period when food is not available.
Here’s a simple trick that can help you lose weight without doing anything else. Drink a litre of water as soon as you wake up in the morning and then drink two more throughout the day. You’ll notice a difference the first month.

 Here’s a better way.

For every pound of muscle that you add your body will burn 3000 calories (1lb) of fat every day. That means that just by having an extra pound of muscle on your body you will burn a pound of fat every day! So, add muscle!
This is the fastest way to add a pound of muscle. Squats and Pushups! You do them on alternate days; squats one day, pushups the next. And you do them SuperSlow style.

That is, you do the easy part twice as slow as the hard part. That way you fatigue the muscles quickly. Then you rest the muscles for 48
hours which gives the body a chance to make new muscles.
Squats should be done with a wide stance and all the way to the floor. Pushups the with palms shoulder width apart and all the way to the floor, then all the way up. Use the full range of motion of the muscle group you are trying to develop.
The idea is to tire the muscles out completely so do a set of squats until you can’t do another, then rest for a couple of minutes and do it again.

Do that 3 times and you’re done for the day. The following day, don’t do squats but do pushups. Do them the same way, go down twice as slow as you come up.
You will lose weight fast, unless you add more junk food and fat to your diet. Instead, eat at least 5 to 7 different raw vegetables and fruits every day.

Cut out anything that comes in a bag or package. Cut out all processed foods, soft drinks and sweets. Eat more grains and less red meat.

Check out the Food Pyramid.

If you really want to give your body the best
possible chance to be healthy and fat free, go to infinity2.com and order their weight loss formula and Essentials for Life. That will give you all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics that your body needs and will keep you feeling better and healthier.

They also have a Proteabolic Mass Formula for serious athlete who want to build muscle mass quickly and safely.
Weight loss without exercise is not good. You need to eat healthy, exercise and get your rest. You will feel better, look better and be healthier. Try it for a week. You will notice a difference. You will feel better and that will motivate you to continue.
Losing weight only in specific areas of the body is impossible.

You can’t just lose weight around the belly, for instance.
If you want tight, rippled abs, do crunches and leg raises every other day the way I described above.
Good luck!

Fast Ways To Lose Bellyfat

Thomas asks…

I Feel Like the Saggy Baggy Elephant :(?

I am at the end of my rope and I am in tears. My heaviest weight was 197-200 pounds and I am 5’4″. I lost weight and I probably weigh about in my 140s now. However, my thighs are still huge, flabby and covered in cellulite, my butt has cellulite and my stomach is saggy and hanging. I am only in my 20s. I felt that I lost my teen years to being fat. While my friends were wearing the cute clothes and going out to parties, I was wearing the over-sized sweat pants and “mom jeans”. Now I feel like I have lost my young adult years as well to a messed up body. It feels like by the time I finally get my body straight, I will be too old to wear the nice clothes that I have been denied for so long.

I don’t eat that much. I never did. My father’s whole side of the family was heavy. I lost weight by starving myself and doing a lot of cardio. That’s how I got down to the 140s.

I am currently on the slim-fast plan trying to further change my body and I am so hungry all of the time. I do daily cardio for about an hour. And still my body looks the same. If I eat one slice of pizza, it feels like I gain 7 pounds overnight. I was doing abdominal exercises but they were hurting my back and I was tired of doing all of that work and not seeing any results so I stopped. I don’t have the energy to do a lot of toning….I am just so tired all of the time.

I’d like to get rid of the sagging, pot belly and flabby thighs and cellulite. I am pretty much okay with my current weight….I don’t necessarily want to lose weight (though that would be nice), my main goal is to reshape this saggy baggy cellulite covered body. What can I do? Has anyone of you been in my situation and if so, what did you do? Please help me. I find myself getting very depressed about this issue.

(Now that I have a computer of my own, I won’t miss choosing a best answer. I will be choosing a best answer this time so come on in and help a desperate young woman out. Thanks for your time. )

her workouts seem impossible but honestly you will get used to it – I am on like day 3 on the 30 day shred and my sides have toned up (I am over weight btw)

it will defo be worth an hour of your day!! 🙂 do it in the bedroom or somet :p and the food – well try to keep a balanced diet – and ease off the salt – the salt is the reason why you wake up the next morning and the scales have gone up! Salt absorbs all the water in your body – it is all water weight!

Author answers:

I think you are the perfect candidate for the age old method of gaining weight used by football players since the dawn of time. Squats and milk. A 1/2 gallon of milk a day and squats with weight 2x a week. Do back squats one day and front squats the other day. Add weight to the bar each week. Do some deadlifts too and finally do an upper body day.

It is going to be tough to gain weight and lose fat, but given that you are a beginner it might just happen.

For you, a 1/2 gallon of skim milk a day would be an extra 640 calories a day. I would recommend more to a football player, but for you and your current size that should be fine. This is IN ADDITION to what you are currently eating. You need to be in a caloric surplus to gain weight. You might need more calories if you have a fast metabolism too and since we’re adding in weights that may be the case, if so go with 2% instead of skim. If you are still stalling in weight go with whole.

For the weights, you absolutely have to increase the amount of weight you are lifting each and every week. Progressive overload training. If you squat just the bar (45lbs.) this week for 3 sets of 6-8 reps you better be squatting 55lbs. Next week. Same for all the other exercises.

A super simple plan would be something like this “if you have access to a gym”:
with gym access
Monday: Back Squat, flat Bench, Bent over row
Wednesday: Deadlift, Military press, dumbell row
Friday: Front squat, incline bench, pull ups

no gym access:
Monday: Body weight squats, pushups, rows with milk jugs full of sand
Wednesday: Suitcase Deadlift (google it), Military press, suitcase rows (or milk jugs with sand or water)
Friday: Squat thrusts, farmer walks with milk jugs, pull ups

Not having a gym will be harder, so you will need to push yourself more to get some gains. Not saying it can’t be done, but it won’t be as easy since you won’t have as much weight to use as a stimulus. For the bodyweight stuff, I would say do 50-100 reps of each exercise in as many sets as it takes. Probably 4 or 5 sets once you get good at it, but it might take you 10+ until you do. Just some ideas above…

You’ll have a lot of milk jugs to work with on my plan 🙂

Do some cardio on non weight training days, say Tuesday and Saturday. Rest thursday and sunday.

Notice the 3x a week lower body. You will gain some weight, you glutes and quads will get nice. The squats and deads will also help your abs a lot. The cardio will help the fat. You’ll look awesome in Miami. Drink your milk! Attack it hard and strong and you will reap the rewards.

Michael asks…

Will that fat ever go away?

SI’m 5’6″ and have been overweight in the past. The highest weight I’ve ever reached was at 156 pounds…Since then, I’ve learned how to manage a healthier lifestyle, thus losing the weight. The lowest weight I have ever come to was 110, which was unhealthy, I know…But my question is, why have I never lost that roll at the bottom of my stomach?

I’ve always naturally been inclined to gain weight in my hip and thigh area, so is that part of it?

Recently, I became pregnant. I weigh (about) 120-125 on any average day…but I’ve always carried that inch and a half of belly fat/roll! Now that I’m pregnant, I see that I’m showing a little bit faster than most women. I know that a little of that is the baby, but the real “bump” is mostly that inch and a half of fat that has never went away. Is this normal for women or something? Most women at a healthy weight have a flat stomach. Not me. it’s like flat, flat, flat…and then small “roll”. I’m only 13 weeks.

My question is…is this genetic? Am I doomed to have a small roll there for the rest of my life? I just don’t understand and I feel a depressed over it.

Author answers:

A flat stomach is not necessarily healthy. Women do have a higher body fat percentage than men, due to the fact that they do have to give birth and all…

And personally, I know very few people who have flat stomachs. What about you?

Why is my metabolism not working efficiently?

Joseph asks…

Why is my metabolism not working efficiently?

all my life, id always been chunky. its hard for me to lose weight. all the women in my family on both sides have hypothyroidism. a year ago i weighed between 135-140lbs, at 17 and 5’2″. i wasn’t happy w/ my body. i was also probably eating 1200 cals/day. maybe more. though mostly ate fast food. then, i went through heartbreak and had no appetite and dropped to 114 pounds in just a few weeks. then, i loved the weight loss and wanted to lose more since id inadvertently been so initially successful. i didn’t obsess over calories until i got just under 110 and hit my first “plateau”. i vowed to eat only cereal for meals, then limited myself to 1 250-350 calorie breakfast every morning until i loved my body. a month later i kept losing weight and hit an all time low of 90 pounds. i looked sick. i was disproportionately thin. if i flexed my thigh muscles, you could see the entire muscle contract all the way to my pelvis. i could could my ribs and my hip bones stuck out so far they were like armrests. but my lower belly still had a “pouch”. anyways, after a few months eating like that and getting weaker and weaker, fluctuating between 94 and 96 pounds and having unbearable cravings & binging that’d go on for a weekend, i stopped having an appetite and wouldn’t eat for days until i let myself cave in. i did keep hydrated. finally at the start of summer, my body “gave up” in a way, and i didn’t have the energy to be so weak anymore if that makes sense. i slooowly gained fat (weight). now im barely maintaining 110. wondering what i can do to fix my metabolism? im not eating more than 800 healthy calories a day, & yes im 100% sure it’s accurate. if i increase my caloric consumption or eat carbs, i gain fat around my midsection and hip/thigh area. it seems like everything i eat is being stored as fat. how low can my bmr possibly be? what can i do to get a “normal” life/eating habits again without getting fatter?

Author answers:

This information is pretty hard to find online, but I did research a year or so ago, and found something out about Schebendach, who did observational studies on anorexic adolescent girls- which is what your did to your body. According to his research, your BMR would be around 862… Which means, living a sedentary lifestyle, he would estimate you’d burn around 1080 calories per day. Obviously your results are pretty low for the Schebendach Formula, but keep in mind it’s just an estimate (I used your lowest results, by the way), and the longer you go, typically the more your body stores.

I hate to be the breaker of bad news, but there really isn’t a way to go into a normal lifestyle and eating habits without gaining some weight. Starvation Mode is pretty darn serious, and as far as I know in all the research I’ve done, the only way to beat it is to consistently give your body more calories than it’s used to and avoid exercise. You need it to think, “hey, I’ve got plenty of food now, the famine is over! Time to shed excess!” But, in order to do that, you will gain weight because your body is set right now to store fat, because it believes there is a famine and will continue to be one.

It totally sucks; I know. But you have to just deal with it. This is why people say starvation is never the answer! Anorexia (and other EDs) are no fun in so many ways, and the consequences don’t just go away when you start eating. It. Sucks. But, it’s necessary.

You will probably gain weight, and it will probably be in fat. I would assume you will put on anywhere between 3 to 5 to even 10 pounds- but the good news is that once your metabolism has been “fixed” you can lose that weight in a month or two just by being healthy. I’d say try to eat 2,000 calories- yes, 2,000- for 3 or so weeks, no exercise. After 3 weeks, cut down to 1,500-1,700 and exercise moderately for 3-5 days a week and see how you do.
