What’s a good fitness routine for me?

Chris asks…

What’s a good fitness routine for me?

I’m a fifteen year old girl, and whenever I have time to work out I’m at home. At home we have a treadmill in the garage, a pair of five pound weights, a pair of one pound weights, a couple of pilates videos, a yoga mat (one of those ones so that you don’t slip), a small, flat back yard, and a basketball hoop (the area around it it about 12 feet by five feet)

What’s a good routine that I can use to lose some weight?

Author answers:

Colon cleansing is the latest technique to lose weight. Boffins have illustrated the fact that not all additional weight is due to surplus fat, a load of weight just sits there in the insides, and all you need to do is rinse it out. Http://lamirt.dietresults.info has a risk free trial on at the moment, give it a try, you can lose as much as 20 pounds!

Betty asks…

I need an at home work out with very little equipment…..?

2 years ago I left my beloved job waitressing to sit behind a desk! Over the two years I have put on around 20 pounds from lack of exercise! But I work 8-5 and have two children (4 year old and a 2 year old) which leave pretty much no time left for exercise after work, picking up at the house, bath times, cooking dinner, and actually spending a few minutes together before bed time! I desperately need some kind of a work out routine that I can do a full body work out in 30 minutes or so! With as little equipment as possible…..I thinking a yoga ball and maybe some weights? Please help! I’m desperately wanting to get rid of all this extra weight I’ve been lugging around!
Something I can do with my KIDS there! I cannot get a babysitter to run for 30 minutes plus drive somewhere to find a safe place to run! My road is def. not safe!
Nothing can be done in the morning! Sorry but I have two kids to get ready for school and the babysitters! I get up early enough! Something I can do right after work before the craziness starts

Sit ups- 3 sets of 20
Leg raises- 3 sets of 10-15
Push ups- 3 sets of 20 (or 6 sets of 10 if u can’t do sets of 20)
Squats-3 sets of 15-20
and if possible, get some cardio, such as Jump roping, jogging, oliptical machine, stationary bike. Cardio is the best way in my opinion to lose weight. A healthy diet (though expensive) is also important to weight loss. But the exercises listed above are just a few. You also want to make sure you’re not taking too much of a break in between sets, as you want to sweat!!

I would also recommend that you get some resistance bands to add resistance to your work out.

Mark asks…

How should I stretch my very tight muscles?

I used to be very flexible. Age has taken its toll and I am tight to the point of pain. I have been doing some gentle stretches from some old yoga routines I used to do. My shoulders, neck, and especially my hamstrings are terribly tight. I do seek massage therapy services, but I want to stretch on my own at home. How should I go about stretching these three areas (especially hamstrings and shoulders) and for how long? Any resources you have seen online or in a bookstore that you recommend? Thank you!

Author answers:

The most important thing about stretching and building your flexibility is to never stretch a cold muscle. So before doing any stretching take a walk, take a hot bath, or do something where blood flow is increased to the muscles.

As far as specific poses;

for the neck, gently bring your chin to your chest and if you want gently push your head down with your hand for further stretch. Hold for about 5 seconds and then bring your head back to neutral. Repeat about 10 times. Then again, gently bring your head from neutral position to the right as if you were trying to get your ear to be parallel to your shoulders. If you need a further stretch, gently use your hand to push the head a little further down. Keep it there for about 5 seconds then go back to neutral. Repeat about 10 times. Then switch sides. Do not arch your neck back. This will cause your vertebrae to compress and cause more harm then good.

For the shoulder, reach your arm out straight in front of you, then still holding it straight bring your arm across your chest (like the fore-arm to the opposite shoulder. Hold it there with the opposite hand for about 10 seconds, then release. Repeat about 10 times. Switch arms.

For the hamstrings, put one foot in front of the other shoulder width apart. Raise the toes of the leg that is in the front, keeping your heel on the ground, both knees should be slightly bent. Bending down from the waist, gently lower your torso toward your thighs keeping the toes of the front leg pointed up. Hold for about 10 seconds. Release and repeat about 10 times. Then switch legs.

Again remember. Don’t stretch cold muscles. It does more harm than good.

Hope this helps.

Colon Cleansing?

Mary asks…

Colon Cleansing?

Okay, so I am in the midst of losing weight by dieting and exercising. I read many different websites about the benefits of colon cleansing when dieting and how it can help you to lose weight more (not profoundly though). Most of the websites said that there is a type of “Plaque” that accumulates within your body from all the bad junk you have eaten in your life. And if you do a colon cleaning / detox treatment, after so long you may poop out a long string of plaque from your body cleaning itself. I also read that there are harmful parasites that live within this “plaque” and a lot of times they are the reason why some people have a hard time losing weight. Because the parasites take all the “good” nutrients and leave you with the bad.

Now I went to the Dr. about weight loss and dieting and asked him about colon cleansing, but he laughed and said that was a myth.

Has anyone ever had this done and did end up removing the “plaque” from your body?

Author answers:

Absolutely. I’ve done many types of colon cleanses. Some have been a waste of time. But the really good ones have been truly health changing. I have indeed passed large pieces of mucoid plaque and also worms. The World Health Organization estimates that 80% of the world’s population has parasites.

About research:

Until the 1950s medical doctors regularly recommended and researched ways to cleanse the colon including enemas, fasting and herbal cleanses. Many of these doctors considered a healthy colon to be the foundation of overall good health.

There’s a free report on this website that will give you, in specific, all the details of the medical research done on colon cleansing.

I’d recommend that you only take colon cleansing advice from people who’ve actually done it.

All you need to lose weight is a good healthy diet and exercise – it takes time 🙂

Mary asks…

The truth about colon cleanse/detox plans?

Ok.. I’ve tried to do a little research on this, and the internet is filled with a myriad of products, plans, etc. claiming to cleanse the colon and detox your system. I am not sure what to think. Are supplements really necessary? If so, are there products out there that are safe, with no “fillers”, etc.? Obviously I realize a healthy diet and exercise are a must. I am just looking for a plan to detox my system and clean out the colon… There are so many things out there.. and I’ve also heard scary stories about “natural” products…does anyone have personal experience and/or reliable advice about this? Thanks so much
btw, I already eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruit/veg, and exercise daily.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. If the general consensus is that a “program” is not necessary, then is there something I can do with diet/fasting for 1-2 days to achieve the same effect? As mentioned, my diet is healthy (includes lots of fiber) and I exercise daily- but too often I still feel “backed up” (sorry, I know it’s not a pretty topic!)

Author answers:

Colon cleansing can be helpful. Those docs who aren’t scared by the alternative movement’s use of colon cleanses will tell you that YES stuff does build up there. All things not being perfect, the colon also is assaulted and can’t do its job in the perfect manner it was created to do it.

The best thing to do is plan a spring or fall yearly cleanse. It is best to use gentle products like what Garden of Life offers, or other equivalents. Avoid psyllium in your cleanse if possible as it is very harsh. I’ve used the Ultimate Cleanse, and like it, but it was a rather long experience. And, the psyllium content ended up making me get IBS mimic symptoms, so I had to stop.

Colon cleansing can be uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to be uncomfortable to your wallet. Find an alternative health message board, and ask for people’s recommendations of what they liked.

The heart is supposed to work well to pump the blood around your body, while they lungs infuse oxygen and take away CO2, but we all know they need help occasionally too. 🙂

Remember to always drink plenty of water and get plenty of exercise.

Steven asks…

Detox/Colon Cleanse/Candida Question?

I’m exercising doing Insanity workouts, & eating healthy, more fruits & vegetables as well as taking greens powder and a good natural multivitamin daily, I’m also taking psyllium husks, & aloe vera, to clean my colon. (for about a week) How long will it take to detox, or be toxin free, I’m 25 and have had Candida for a few years. I’m also starting a candida diet (again) & natural anti candida remedies: coconut oil, garlic, oregon oil, etc.
(I sweat a lot when I workout & drink plenty of water)

Author answers:

You may be trying too hard with the wrong protocol. To learn about the Candida diet and proper supplements, go to this website: http://fibromyalgia-irritable-bowel-candida-support.com/about-candida.aspx

We typically find that with the anti-fungal diet and proper supplements, people are Candida free in 2-3 weeks.

Good luck!

Does anyone have any easy or fast tips to losing weight?

Does anyone have any easy or fast tips to losing weight?
I really want real answers.
I know that I should exercise but is there ways so I won’t be so exhausted. Do you get what I mean?

Are there any healthy diets?
If so can you give me some?

admin answers:

It’s easy and free!

Drink more water… You can use a water bottle and refill it through out the day. But drink about 4-6 bottles of water during the day
this will keep you hydrated, full and flush out your system

no fast food, boxed food (freezer food that comes in a box), or junk food, soda and candy. OK, you can have some, just not everyday!

If you cook meals at home do that instead of buying meals. Use fresh ingredients. It’s cheaper and healthier.

Run a few times a week. Even 10-15min every other day of easy jogging.

Thomas asks…

Does anyone have good tips on losing weight fast?

I’ve always had a problem with weight and i really need to lost at 30 pounds before the new year because i have to have a surgery and the doctor won’t do it until i’m in shape. I need any tips that you can give me.

admin answers:

Get ready to lose 10 pounds! By paying attention to the amount of food you eat, eliminating unnecessary sugar and fat from your foods and making sure you include absolutely delicious meals and snacks to keep your taste buds happy.

Use this easy-to-follow and super healthy diet plan to lose the first 10, the last 10, or any 10 in between! Because it’s a balanced and flexible program, you can stay on this diet as long as it takes.

Top Fast Diet Secrets

1 – Keep track of everything you eat and drink. No need to estimate calories – just write down the type of food or beverage and the amount.

2 – Cut your fat intake in half, which means half as much margarine or butter on toast, vegetables and your muffin, half the mayonnaise on your sandwich, and half the oil in the pan when you sauté foods. You get the idea!

3 – Limit the sugar treats to three times per week maximum.
Include good sources of protein at meal, chicken, fish, legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt.

4 – Eat at least one meatless lunch and dinner each week to reduce fat, increase fiber, and get yourself into the habit of building meals around whole grains, beans and vegetables.

5 – If you’re not currently using skim milk, go down to the level of fat content in the milk you use. For example, if you currently use two percent, use only one percent. If you insist on whole milk, try two percent.

6 – Eat at least two servings of fresh fruit every day. Choose whatever type of fruit is in season.

7 – Instead of fruit juice for breakfast or snack, drink water. Add a slice of lemon or lime for zest.

8 – Include two servings of vegetables with lunch and dinner, for a total of at least four servings per day.

9 – Choose one to two servings of foods made from whole grains with every meal.

10 – Shut off the TV whenever you eat – that includes meals and snacks. Studies show that we automatically eat larger portions when we snack in front of the tube, and typically those foods are high in fat and sugar, which means excess calories!

11 – Choose calories you can chew – that means only calorie-free beverages (except for milk) Sodas are loaded with empty calories, and fruit juices provide less fiber and vitamins per calorie than the fruit they’re made from.

12 – Plan ahead for meals and snacks so you know exactly what you plan to eat. Last-minute choice tends to be higher in calories and lower in satisfaction.

Cleaning the Body from Toxins through Detoxification

Cleaning the Body from Toxins through Detoxification

Detoxification is the process of getting rid of toxins out from the body or neutralizing them. These toxic substances are remnants of unhealthy diets, drug intakes, as well as other external hazards. Detoxification may also relate to the period of withdrawal if a person eliminates addictive substances from his body and return to a regular circumstance. Physiologically, our body has its own means of cleansing through the liver organ and also the kidney. Both internal organs dissolve toxins and expel them.

Medical detoxification aims at eliminating poisons out of the human body which may cause critical harm. Dialysis, stimulated vomiting, and the long-term treatment for drug addiction are just a some of the methods recognized in medicine. The alternative ways include fasting, herbal bowel cleanse, and diet plans. Healthcare experts frequently doubt the benefits of these practices. These detox methods are even considered as risky and can worsen existing health conditions. There are still no enough documented proofs that alternative detoxification really “flushes” out toxins and other impurities. Even so, alternative wellness experts claim that body cleansing has seen several success over time. Normally, a detox regimen operates by accumulating all the impurities and purging them out while rejuvenating your organs and the body’s defense mechanisms. Additional advantages may include better nutrient absorption, prevention of colon cancer, energy boosts, better hair and skin texture.

Most detoxification practices are done through diet programs. A special detox diet recipe is followed and consumed continuously within days or weeks.. Most of these diet programs are created for colon detoxification. Like a 3-day detox diet that encourages a high-fiber intake to eliminate toxic substances within the digestive tract.

A 3-day detox diet is designed for every age group to remove toxins in the body. The detox diet recipe for this normally include plain water, fruits, and fresh vegetables with no consumption of alcohol, sugar or coffee. Following the regimen, you’ll feel less bloated because it reduces water retention. Other known benefits are higher energy levels and better immune system. Although getting some exercise is not suggested over the course of the diet, it’s still a good way of starting an extended plan for losing weight.

*Getting rid of harmful toxins from your system is attainable through a simple 3-day detox diet. You only need water, fresh fruits, and vegetables as parts of the detox diet recipe. Flush out toxins from your body by sticking to diet plan of cleansing.
